HI, I'M EMILY
YOUR NUTRITION GUIDE
TO SHOW LOVE FOR OUR BODY, WE NEED TO PROVIDE IT WITH THE PROPER NOURISHMENT.
Love & Plants was created around this idea. I grew up thinking that eating healthy meant simply following the food pyramid and making sure I checked the “veggie box” each day.
I was not aware how much a plant-based diet could change my health, my mood, and my life forever.
FLAVORFUL, INSPIRING, AND DOWNRIGHT DELICIOUS.
That’s how I describe my life today, but it wasn’t always that way. In the summer of 2007, my cousin handed me The China Study by T. Colin Campbell and Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and that’s when everything changed. I realized that my Food and Nutrition degree hadn’t equipped me with knowledge about the full power of food – and its ability to fuel us through every bite.
My eyes, ears, heart, and stomach were opened to an entirely new approach to nutrition.
Since this revolutionary breakthrough of integrating food as part of my lifestyle, I have traveled and cooked through 38 countries where I learned what healthy meant to those all around the world. I spent time as a Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods Market, and ultimately realized
I want to share the gift of accessible healthy food with as many people as possible.
From there, Love & Plants, and the Plantiful Plate recipe subscription was born.
Love & Plants Values Statement
In the depths of my soul, I believe every person is created equal and should have an opportunity to cook healthy foods for their families. I acknowledge the privilege and the discriminatory systems that impact our world and our community, and I know this often limits access to food and opportunities surrounding a plant-based diet. I vow to actively fight oppressive systems and use my privilege to speak up when I hear or see racism, prejudice and discrimination, and teach my daughter to do the same.
Love & Plants is an extension of my values and beliefs. I welcome honest feedback if anyone hears or sees something that is out of alignment with being anti-racist. I will continue to learn and work at understanding as well as promoting anti-racist practices. Love & Plants is here to serve all people, period.
Love & Plants,
